What is Medical Hypnosis?
What is the value of it and what results can you expect?
Medical hypnosis can substantially increase the positive attitude and natural healing capabilities of the body that are controlled by the subconscious. As a
result, it decreases recovery time significantly, which means the patient requires less medication, spends less time in the hospital (food tastes better at home!), with a better overall prognosis.
Medical hypnotherapy supports conventional treatment through additional resources to speed healing, improve health, manage pain and allow the
patient to gain a greater sense of well-being.
Medical hypnotherapy is rapidly gaining recognition from the medical community. For example, research on IBS (irritable bowel
syndrome) alone is so dramatic that Adriane Fugh-Berman, MD, chairman of the National Women's Health Network in Washington D.C., says that hypnosis should be the treatment of choice for
severe cases of IBS (Melissa Roth, CHT, DCH, "Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Hypnosis")
For all conditions, I use a combination of private sessions and specially designed audio recordings, which clients can use on their own. The Rapid Surgery Recovery system is designed for people before, during, and/or after surgery. People are now wearing CD players or MP3 players during their actual surgery focusing on positive support, thus screening out any potential negative effects.
Medical hypnotherapy can help clients manage their own blood flow, endorphin levels, comfort level, and digestion. In addition, it enables
clients to respond better to hospital personnel and procedures, interpreting providers’ touch and techniques as healing and nurturing as opposed to invasive or intrusive. Finally, the program can help
make it easier for clients to interact with family and caregivers as well.
As a special branch of hypnosis specifically intended to complement traditional medical treatments provided by medical practitioners,
there is a rapidly growing acceptance by doctors and medical staff for complementary approaches to health care, with a broader understanding of the profound connection between the physical
body, the subconscious mind and the spirit. The whole body – whole person holistic approach can accelerate healing, bringing greater health and happiness.
Medical Hypnosis effectively works on the emotional and mental associations that negatively energize ailments, transforming
pessimistic viewpoints to more positive ones to support healing. Also addressing fears and anxieties about illness and recovery as well as eliminating or decreasing pain which helps reduce or
eliminate the need for pain medication.
Medical Hypnosis aims to bring about better healing of the body. It facilitates the entire subconscious mind, body, and spirit of the client
in the healing process. It helps recovery whether used before, during or after the traditional medical treatment; however, it is recommended that it be used in all three stages for highest effectiveness.
